New Burlington Street,
July 6, 1847.
My dear Sir,
I have this moment received your letter, and beg to say that I shall be delighted to see you on Friday as you propose. I only regret that your engagements will not permit me the pleasure of entertaining you for a longer time. However, for even so short a time I shall be happy to give you a hearty welcome to my quiet home which, after the gay scenes in which you are at present engaged will at least be a sort of contrast.
With every respect I remain, My dear Sir, yours faithfully
To hans Christian Andersen.
