Goteborg, Sept. 6th, 1850.
My Dear Sir,
I addressed a letter to you (thanking for your letter of. introduction), from Christiania three months ago, which I trust you duly received, per favor of our mutual friend, Mr. Charles Beckwith.
My present object in writing, is to request permission to dedicate my "Pictures of Scandinavia" to yourself.
If you permit me the pleasure of inscribing my humble work to yourself, I shall be proud to receive a few lines from your own hand to that effect.
Most faithfully Yours,
