Fodreise fra Holmens Canal til Østpynten af Amager i Aarene 1828 og 1829
Johan Ludvig Heiberg reviewed Hans Christian Andersen's first book, Fodreise fra Holmens Canal til Østpynten af Amager i Aarene 1828 og 1829 (A journey on foot from Holmens Canal to the east point of Amager in the years 1828 and 1829), in his periodical Maanedskrift for Litteratur (Monthly review of literature), vol. 1, 1829, p. 169-172.
Heiberg had a leading position in the cultural elite of Copenhagen at that time, and his flattering review of Fodreise contributed to Andersen's succes, even though Heiberg and Andersen were on a collision course later (cf. Criticism of Hans Christian Andersen).
Fodreise was first published at the author's expense (as Reitzel would not pay HCA the 100 rdl., he had requested). The edition of 500 copies - priced at 1 rdl. - was quickly sold. C.A. Reitzel then paid HCA 100 rdl. for the right to print a 2nd edition.
