Description of this motif: The wyvern and the Midgard serpent are snake creatures from Nordic mythologi. Being snakes they are related to the snake in Paradise. The wyvern is a monster, that kills and holds people from the church or protects treasures. The Midgard serpent wreathes, like the greek titan Oceanos, Earth (Midgard).
