H. C. Andersen made very fine picture books and gave away. The precious gifts were made with cut and glued in pictures as well as poems from the poet's own hand.
One was given to Charlotte Melchior, born 4.3.1871, and another, made in cooperation with Andersen's friend Adolph Drewsen, to Astrid Stampe
