In a letter for his "Kiære Velgiører" (Dearest Benefactor), Jonas Collin, HCA accounts for the use of the legacy from his grandfather (cashed as the grandfather went to the poorhouse). The legacy counted 54 rdl. (gross), 51 rdl (clear): "I allowed the municipal authorities to pay my mother, who is old and very poor, 15 rix dollars (I couldn't make better use of it myself)"
