HCA conference at The University of Southern Denmark

The Hans Christian Andersen Center was host for The fourth international HCA conference - Hans Christian Andersen between children's literature and adult literature at The University of Southern Denmark, 1-5 August 2005. The conference book is being edited and will be due during the cause of the year 2006.

Previous conferences

Papers from the first Hans Christian Andersen conference ever (1991) and the following in 1996 have been published here.

Because the conference papers are of great value for Hans Christian Andersen scholarship and are still often inquired for at the Hans Christian Andersen Center, we have published them on our website with, among other things, a search engine.

Papers from the conferences that took place at the University of Southern Denmark (Odense University) in 1991 and 1996 have been published in the books Andersen and the World (1993) and Hans Christian Andersen. A Poet in Time (1999).

The third HCA conference was held in june 2000 in Snowbird, Utah, USA. The papers have been published in cooperation between Brigham Young University, The Hans Christian Andersen Center and The University Press of Southern Denmark in the book H.C. Andersen. Old Problems and New Readings (2004).

The papers from Andersen and the World (1993) and Hans Christian Andersen. A Poet in Time have been published online.

Creating web ressources for Hans Christian Andersen scholarship is one of our high priorities. The web publishing of the conference papers are part of this project. There is an overview over such ressources at the front page of the section for research and scholarship.
