Hans Christian Andersen : Fairy tales - 213 titles
Netscape 4 does not display this page right. Click here to go to the page's content. The selection of fairy tales contains both fairy tales and stories. The label "stories" refers in the oeuvre of Hans Christian Andersen a movement towards a much more experimental and, in some cases, more realistic style – primarily for adult readers. As one can see in the chronological list of fairy tale collections, the label "told for children" (fortalte for Børn) disappears after the first 6 booklets, and in 1852 came, after a series of "New fairy tales" (Nye Eventyr) and Picturebook Without Pictures, the first collection of "stories" (Historier).
This selection contains a lot more texts than the 156, Andersen published as fairy tales and stories. Read more about the selection in the FAQ.
